I just posted up two new 80 minute DJ mixtapes. Most of the tracks are 90′s trip-hop, like Massive Attack, Portishead, Air, DJ Shadow, Unkle, Dr. Octagon, Del, Automator, etc… I’d been wanting to make a mix with this type of music for a long time, and I finally did, so hope you enjoy!

Music : Synesthesia Vol.I & II
Sunday, January 15th, 2012New DJ Mixtapes
Friday, December 3rd, 2010I recently finished 2 DJ mixtapes and they are ready for download here. POGO (77-83) is a mix of post punk and dark wave mostly from 1977 – 1983. Stuff like ESG and Yello, Gang of Four, Van Kaye & Ignit, The Mob, Tuxedomoon and the Honeymoon Killers. There’s one newer track from Prinzhorn Dance School and a couple contemporary edits that stay pretty true to the original tracks are snuck in there.
There’s also a house mix up there that’s pretty dark and banging. It’s not all new stuff, just tracks that I put aside over a series of months and eventually coerce together into a mix. Some of the tracks I’ve edited a bit…rearranged and put in my own breaks. It’s called Those Who Walk In Darkness, and includes tracks and remixes by Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Boy 8 Bit, Afrojack, Modeselector and Jori Hulkkonen. I also uploaded a mix from about a year ago in a similar style called Don’t Trust The Brown Acid, which leans a bit more towards the acid house side of things. It includes tracks by Erol Alkan & Boys Noize, Dusty Kid, Herve & Sinden, Trevor Loveys, Fake Blood and Idiotproof among others.
Please enjoy and pass along to friends.
The Soft Pack Interview in Monster Children Magazine
Thursday, March 25th, 2010A couple months back I interviewed bassist Dave Lantzman of The Soft Pack for Australian magazine, Monster Children. Now that the new issue is out, I’m posting the interview here:
THE SOFT PACK
Keep it simple, stupid might not be The Soft Pack’s slogan, but it could be. This Southern Californian 4-piece kicks out straightforward, catchy garage-rock a la Stooges…or a less sedate Velvet Underground. (more…)
New Remix for The Color Turning
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009I recently finished a remix of the song “Where the Sky Ends” by the band, The Color Turning. They are working on a remix ep for their new album “Good Hands Bad Blood,” and this will be one of the tracks on it.

Mysterious Cassette Tapes Found…
Wednesday, August 19th, 2009I found these tapes on the wall in front of my house. I was a bit afraid to touch them because, I don’t know, it just seemed dirty, like you didn’t know where they had been. And I was afraid that if I listened to them maybe I’d get ear aids or something. So I left them there. 3 days later, they were still there, so I decided to try them out in my car. There’s a bunch of what I’m assuming is Thai pop music, and one that’s been customized with pictures from the movie “City Slickers” I think, and something with Tom Selleck. The one titled “Modern Rocks (FE)” actually has some pretty good disco on it including Chic’s “Dance, Dance, Dance.”
Busy P’s Birthday
Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009
Since you can’t just come back from 4 days out at Coachella and go straight back to work, we decided to attend Busy P’s birthday party at Pierre Andre’s (Etnies) Malibu estate. The view was ridiculous; cliff front at Point Dume. We took the very expensive key ($1,500 fine to replace) and went down to the private beach to surf, but the lack of swell meant we mostly just floated around (there was a pod of dolphins playing right by us, so that was cool).
