LA Serigraph Show Update : Press Check!

June 30th, 2009

I made my way out to the valley this morning to do the press check for the serigraph poster show I’m curating.  The show is going to be on JULY 25th, 2009 at Barracuda in Hollywood (7769 Melrose Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90046).  Guest artists include: Cleon Peterson, Mark Whalen (Kill Pixie), Megan Whitmarsh, Nathaniel Russell, Albert Reyes, Deedee Cheriel, Jared Purrington, and myself.  The prints are 15″ x 22″  on 100% cotton paper (Stonehenge 250gsm).  The edition is very small (approx. 30 per artist for sale), and there will be an extremely limited number of artist proofs hand customized by each artist also available.  The prices are going to be very affordable, so come out and add to that art collection.  I will post the invite for the show shortly.

There was a Shag job being finished-up while I was there.  A really nice print for Disney’s Haunted Mansion anniversary or something.

Wow. That Shag serigraph, “We’re Dying To Meet You” for Disney’s Haunted Mansion 40th Anniversary celebration, that is being worked on includes an unadvertised variation on the mansion. Very cool.
Do you know the person doing the touch up work?
Curious what the story is on the variant mansion version, as it does not appear
on any of the offical merchandise. I suspect it is a for a VIPs-only thing.

I’ve forgotten the woman’s name. That touch-up work looked very meticulous and I’m sure she goes home every day with a soar neck and back! I think they were running 2 versions, and I think one said “40th Anniversary” and the other said “Disneyworld” or something. I’m not sure if they were sold at different locations, maybe one for the Anaheim Disneyland and one for the Orlando Disneyworld? They were very nice though.
